I am so tried; we had another rapid weekend with family for Easter. Last week Jordan worked an insane amount of hours so he took off Friday to get some yard work done. He also caught a nap in the recliner with Audrey. It was so sweet! I have been told that this week will not be as intense! It was a good week of reflection of how we have learned to communicate in stressful weeks like this. Nine years of marriage and we are still learning, but at least we have made progress! We are so thankful during weeks like this that we live so close to Jordan's work so that we can sneak time in with daddy even if in passing!
The kids and I spent the week doing daily Easter egg hunts with the Resurrection Eggs from Family Life. There is a really good book that goes along with it, and I think that it was helpful to go through the story slowly. I would reccomend it for young kids for sure. We will do it again next year.
Saturday we headed down to my parents' house. They were "gracious" enough to "invite" us to a family yard clean up. (This actually means raking the forest beside the house; they just try to twist it!) My sister and I watched from the house because as you can imagine we would not be very helpful with our little ones. After naps we headed to the farm. Jordan's sister was back in Iowa with her family so we spent the afternoon hanging out with them. Such sweet girls!
We went to the church I grew up in Easter morning. Jonah went to Sunday School and then got to sing with all the kids during the service. We went back to my parents for lunch and naps, but for some reason that didn't go well at all and no one got the naps that were needed. We stopped by Jordan's brother's house on the way to Pella to see Jordan grandparents. Healthy eating was lost somewhere along Easter candy bag number 14 this weekend so we decided to top it off with some McDonalds for supper on the way back.
I think that Reuben was the most excited to be home. He walked around laughing, hitting and banging on everything within his reach. It is nice that he loves his home.
