A Very Late Posting of 1st Day of Enrichment Class!

Yep, enrichment classes started over a month ago and I am just now posting the "First Day of Class" photos.  This year we cut back to just one day.  It is lovely.  Jonah and Audrey are both taking art and science.  Jonah is also taking drama.  I am really curious to see how he does with that because he has been really excited about it.  The back packs are completely unnecessary, but a must for the back to class picture!     Getting Ready to head out!   Miss Poser as she gets ready to go inside!    Way too cool for this   Me too Mom!

Pictures for Benjamin

We have been learning all about American Indians this week.  Today we made a wigwam and tepee.  Reuben really wanted to send his tepee to Benjamin.  I tried to explain that it would get smashed so sending pictures to Benjamin would be just as cool!    Framing the wigwam   He looks stressed, but he was really pleased.   Trying to keep her busy and out of the indian housing projects     More serious wigwam work     A few pictures of Curly Top for Aunt Tori!

A fun start to the school year

The weather was hot and our books were here so we started school this week.  We started on Monday with a special breakfast.  The kids choose breakfast burritos.  Please don't break the glass Reuben. Blueberries! No special cup for your girlie! We were all supposed to be working at the table.  It was CHAOS! Working on his math. She asked a million questions and loved every minute of it! Class clown And now you can see my distraction issue. She got to pick out her attire for the day. She chose her fancy dress and a braid bun in her hair, like Laura Ingals when she was a teacher not a student. Watching a science clip together She is holding Jonah's sign that says "1st day of Second Grade" Daddy took us out to lunch. The kids choose McDonald's. I saved my calories for a much better treat than McDonald's!

A Peek at our Week

Enjoying a non-dairy milk together while waiting for breakfast! Origami! The frustaration of paper folding... A Cat A dog A very dirt face! Well, it was bound to happen.  Reuben is getting older.  He is no longer the daddy nursing Jack.  Now he is the daddy shooting deer. Audrey is not left without a playmate though.  Elise is in training

One great big brother

Jonah is my kid that constantly forgets and does silly boy things like kick his shoe up in the air in the middle of Subway during lunch the other day, but he is a really sweet boy!  Every morning Elise says she is done with breakfast only to climb over to big brother to eat off his plate! (Normally eggs. He is on a big fried egg kick!) "Mom, why don't you go take a nap while I mop the kitchen today."  "How do you spell 'Audrey'?  I am writing down all my blessings before I go to bed."  Another morning of sharing eggs!

And now she's 5

Last but not least Audrey rounds out our Spring birthday marathon.  She waits not so patiently for her big day.  Jordan keeps saying "She's growing up fast on me!"  While it seems like she was already 5 he is right! She is going to hate us for this one someday. B-Bops Birthday lunch with daddy!
I didn't forget about Jonah's birthday;  I just now got my pictures downloaded!  Will he have a brithday doesn't make me want to cry?  How is he 7?  He left yesterday to go to a camp with Audrey and his dad.  He swept the floor and cleaned the counter for me before he left.  He didn't want me to be sad since I was being left behind.  Is he the sweetest or what?  Playing for the A's this year! Catching fish at the pond for his supper! (Thanks Papa and Uncle Joel!) Helping out in the garden. Singing in the Children's Celebration Choir. Loving his baby sister Unwrapping gifts. One of his gifts was Duct tape.  He surprised his sister with a new purse that afternoon. Being silly. Birthday lunch with Daddy.  (A little tradition around here.) He chose a man's lunch:  Buffalo Wild Wings.
