I have been praying that the Doctor would have wisdom as I brought Reuben in for his month. It is funny how baby three has in some ways made me feel like a new mom all over again. Let me brag on myself first, for the first time in a long time we were not late. I always under estimate how long it is going to take to load and unload with three kids, hats, gloves, and a stroller!
Our big question for Dr. John was Reuben's excessive spitting. He asked me a few questions and decided that we needed to get in for an upper GI. This should tell us why (acid reflux, a problem flap or valve) and how much damage has been done. Then we can determine a course of action (surgery, meds or wait and see.) He seemed to think that it needed to be done very soon which was funny, but I am very, very happy with this plan.
I had some questions about other food allergies. He does not think that we need to go to an allergist yet. He was not surprised that peaches was in my list of food suspects though. As babies get older allergies start to show appear in skin rashes so we should have immediate answers anyway. We will try dairy again at 12 mo in the way of cheese. If it is again a problem we will look at 18 months. We may have to wait for peanuts until 3. (That would drastically change the snacks and lunches around here!)
I have noticed that Reuben's right eye is not always following. The Dr said that we need to monitor it closely for the next month. It should have corrected itself by now and we do not want him to develop a lazy eye. If we still notice it at 10 months, off we go to the ophthamoloist.
Reuben's Stats:
Height 28" (50%)
Weight 26.3 (Off the chart, but over 100% is an A+, right?)
Head 46 cm (75%)
The other fun part of this appointment was the vaccines (no, 9 month vaccines are not typical, but we have been behind.) At first the older two were right in the nurses way so we put them in the corner. Then the needles came out, and Jonah started crying in the corner "I just can't watch! I can't watch!" Thankfully he didn't faint. Now that would have been a trip!

I laughed hysterically when I imagined Jonah in the corner crying...The next thing I imagined was Ms Audrey's little mind at work figuring out how she could give shots at home :)It so amazing that they all three came from the same parents. You are an amazing mommy of three. I'm so happy that I got to start with just one. I need lots of practice! :)
