This update is for you Grandpa!

I don't have much to blog about today, but Jordan's grandpa just got a computer for his hospital stay I know that he will check up on me to see what I have been writing about so I feel I have to write about something!

Many people told me that I would like the fact that the kids are close in age and this last month Jonah and Audrey have really played together well.  It is really fun to stand out of sight and listen in on their make believe.  I am really enjoying this stage with both of them.

Jonah has decided that he likes he big tonsils and does not want to get them "fixed." (The phrase we have chosen over "removed.")  He has asked about the process, does not want them to use knives.  He does not want to go without his daddy.  He does not want to wear a space mask.  They gave him  a little book about the procedure and that is where he has gotten most of his ideas.  I put the book away for a few days.

Audrey could not be more into her dolls.  She plays church right now a lot.  She takes each doll to a nursery, sings a song (either "Come Thou Fount" or "Your Name") and then picks up her baby for a donut and sucker!  She has had a couple of zingers lately.  She was bossing Jonah around and then looked at Jordan and said quite proudly "He obeys me."  Jordan and she had a little talk about roles!  She also announce the other day that "Boys have tails, but girls don't."  She doesn't miss the details!

Reuben wants to walk so badly but can't balance his weight enough yet.  He is crawling around and into absolutely everything.  We have played with a couple of diary things-baked in and yogurt-but he is not ready for either yet.  Shoot!

A Very Late Posting of 1st Day of Enrichment Class!

Yep, enrichment classes started over a month ago and I am just now posting the "First Day of Class" photos.  This year we cut back to just one day.  It is lovely.  Jonah and Audrey are both taking art and science.  Jonah is also taking drama.  I am really curious to see how he does with that because he has been really excited about it.  The back packs are completely unnecessary, but a must for the back to class picture!     Getting Ready to head out!   Miss Poser as she gets ready to go inside!    Way too cool for this   Me too Mom!

A little extra help

I had heard that age 8 was when a mom feels like a child can really help out around the house.  I must have an exceptional child because Jonah has become very helpful at 7 1/2!  :)    I kept asking him to load the washing machine, and then one day I heard it running!  He took it upon himself to start the machine as well.  A couple of quick lessons and he was good to go.  We are working on load size.  At first two shirts constituted a load.  Then after explaining water waste he tried washing every piece of cloth in the house at once.  It was amazing to me how helpful the extra pair of hands has been the last couple weeks.  I am loving that this is still an exciting new chore that he is eager to help with!     I taught him how to make scrambled eggs, and Jonah now thinks he is the scrambled egg master. He would making them twice a day if I would let him.  Egg consumption in our home was high, a...
