Christmas Time is Here!

Happy December! We had our first Christmas party tonight so I finally started baking yesterday. I think I have put off baking partially due to my not so helpful helpers and partially because I don't know how it fits in with eating/living healthfully, but when I can take many of the cookies to a party for others to eat then it is all good! We attended a holiday block party which is an example of one of the many reasons we love where we live. These families are great!

The Christmas spirit has hit Jonah hard. I feel like we have glitter glue everywhere as he has also taken to making Christmas cards to decorate the house. Jonah had his first Christmas program. His little group sang a song and he even had one line in the play. He was so nervous and excited at the same time. The program has caused me to resume my contact with AEA for possible speech therapy. I initially contacted them this summer about his intermittent stutter, but by the time they got back to me it was gone again. It is back. The thing that I am more curious about is just helping him get clarity in his speech. I feel that I am being asked far too often to interpret what he is saying, and after listening to the other 4 year olds I think that he is still a bit behind. I have restarted the paperwork and am waiting to hear back about when our home visit will be. (It is through the school district and so the snow days this week set us back a bit!)

I took Audrey with me to finish Christmas shopping this morning. It is so nice to be able to spend time with her alone. She bought a present for Jonah in an attempt to learn giving as well as receiving. She has already told him what she got him, but nearly took his head off when he tried to peek at the bag! She is trying to do the snow thing. (I had to explain to her why she cannot eat the snow off the tires-SO GROSS!) She gives up quickly outside. I think that it is a combination of the cold and the difficulty of walking in 15 inches of snow! She has one more night with her "thumb garden," but I think that we will wear a bandaid while she is sleeping for a few more weeks. The thumb guard worked, but I don't think that it completely cured her.

Reuben has his 9 month check up this week. I am really curious to talk to the doctor about a few things. On the plus side he has not had an ear infection in a month (curious that is exactly when Audrey started wearing her thumb guard...) but his CONSTANT spitting and inability to sleep through the night makes me curious if there aren't other allergies in play. He is crawling on all four now so maybe he will work off a little of those thighs!

A "Spring" Field Trip

This morning when the kids woke up I told them to put on short sleeves because we had a surprise field trip. We met Gramma B and Gramma Great at the Botanical Center and got to pretend it was spring!   By the orchids   Lovely Lady (She has been waiting for short sleeve weather so that she can wear this sweater!)     Grandmas and the kids   Look at the fish!   Me and my babes!     What is this?      This inside of the fig   He looks as disturbed as I was to find out that they throw out the plants in the two themed beds every 6 weeks!  (We kind of wanted to take them home!)   Not sure if this is the wall's intended purpose!     What a great brother!   Group shot!

Vos, Party of 6

I have been thinking about what to do with this blog post for a while now.  I have had various ideas what to say and how to say it.  I think that the best way is to do a FAQ list.  Here is everything that you may (and more likely than not may not) want to know. There is a couple of dangers in doing this specific post.  1)I don't want it to come across that I do not want to talk about the baby since I am writing about it.  I just was afraid that much of the conversation would get lost in cyberspace since we were announcing electronically.  2) I can be a little sarcastic at times and people might "hear" bitterness in some of my answers, but there is none there!  I did my best to proof this so that I do not offend anyone.  When are you due?   My EDD is December 29th.  Jordan thinks this is perfect as long as I have the baby by the 31st.  That way he gets the tax credit this year and gets to pay for it with Flex next year.  Since the other kids' birthdays are in '0
