A great weekend...and then came Monday

We had a great weekend.  Jordan has a big project going on right now and so it was so encouraging Friday to get the news that he passed the FE exam that he took back in April. I am so happy for him; it is such a weight off his mind!
Jonah finally got to have his long time promised sleep over with his best buddie on Friday night.  It was fun to watch those little guys play.  I got to spend a lot of time with Audrey since she was the third wheel!  Reuben was back to normal after what was weeks of not feeling well due to teeth and then that crazy virus.  I told Jordan is was so nice to enjoy him again.
Jordan and I got to get away on Sunday thanks to my sisters' provision of childcare!  We went to a Dino concert and out to supper.  Not for everyone, but we enjoyed ourselves!  Jordan was a little worried I was going to fall asleep, but a piano concert is very relaxing!  We were not your average attendee.  Most were a bit "wiser" than we.  I told Jordan it would have been interesting to take a survey to see if more people were on Lipitor or Boniva!
I spent much of the weekend getting ready for Monday: the first day of kindergarten.  We are starting early since we may take a longer Christmas break!  I was excited and wanted to make it as special for Jonah as possible. This morning I felt ready.  Jonah woke up on the wrong side of the bed.  I do not know what his deal was.  I emailed Jordan this afternoon and asked him if we were planning on helping Jonah with any college tuition because that was the only privilege he left that I hadn't taken away from him as consequences for his attitude and actions.  Yikes!  Tomorrow has to be a better day!

A Very Late Posting of 1st Day of Enrichment Class!

Yep, enrichment classes started over a month ago and I am just now posting the "First Day of Class" photos.  This year we cut back to just one day.  It is lovely.  Jonah and Audrey are both taking art and science.  Jonah is also taking drama.  I am really curious to see how he does with that because he has been really excited about it.  The back packs are completely unnecessary, but a must for the back to class picture!     Getting Ready to head out!   Miss Poser as she gets ready to go inside!    Way too cool for this   Me too Mom!

A little extra help

I had heard that age 8 was when a mom feels like a child can really help out around the house.  I must have an exceptional child because Jonah has become very helpful at 7 1/2!  :)    I kept asking him to load the washing machine, and then one day I heard it running!  He took it upon himself to start the machine as well.  A couple of quick lessons and he was good to go.  We are working on load size.  At first two shirts constituted a load.  Then after explaining water waste he tried washing every piece of cloth in the house at once.  It was amazing to me how helpful the extra pair of hands has been the last couple weeks.  I am loving that this is still an exciting new chore that he is eager to help with!     I taught him how to make scrambled eggs, and Jonah now thinks he is the scrambled egg master. He would making them twice a day if I would let him.  Egg consumption in our home was high, a...
