Audrey's Zingers

Just a few things I wanted to get written down before I forget them.  Audrey has made me laugh more than a few times lately!  She always says what is on her mind!

We needed to go to Menard's this week. Prior to our departure Jordan went around and around with her about her footwear.  She wanted flip flops; he wanted her Nike sandals.  Jordan won.  He was getting her out of her car seat and said, "Come here, Pretty."  She pouted, "I am not pretty; I am wearing Nikes!"  She is so dramatic!

This morning Audrey greeted me as I was getting out of the shower.  I went to my closet to get dressed and she asked, "Mommy, can you please wear something pretty today?"  Apparently she does not like my current maternity attire of mesh shorts and t-shirts!

I have found that one way to get things done on a day when naps seem to be running short is to offer an ultimatum: Clean the toy room or go back to bed.  Audrey opted to clean with me and was surprisingly helpful and cheerful!  I told her that after cleaning we would have and Izze with our snack because so her great attitude.  She was thrilled.  We gulped her drink and then stopped "Mom!  This pop makes my eyes all wet.  I need a towel!"

It maybe time to get Audrey some bigger underwear.  She stood up today, got a wedgie and exclaimed "What is the deal with my undies?"

A Very Late Posting of 1st Day of Enrichment Class!

Yep, enrichment classes started over a month ago and I am just now posting the "First Day of Class" photos.  This year we cut back to just one day.  It is lovely.  Jonah and Audrey are both taking art and science.  Jonah is also taking drama.  I am really curious to see how he does with that because he has been really excited about it.  The back packs are completely unnecessary, but a must for the back to class picture!     Getting Ready to head out!   Miss Poser as she gets ready to go inside!    Way too cool for this   Me too Mom!

A little extra help

I had heard that age 8 was when a mom feels like a child can really help out around the house.  I must have an exceptional child because Jonah has become very helpful at 7 1/2!  :)    I kept asking him to load the washing machine, and then one day I heard it running!  He took it upon himself to start the machine as well.  A couple of quick lessons and he was good to go.  We are working on load size.  At first two shirts constituted a load.  Then after explaining water waste he tried washing every piece of cloth in the house at once.  It was amazing to me how helpful the extra pair of hands has been the last couple weeks.  I am loving that this is still an exciting new chore that he is eager to help with!     I taught him how to make scrambled eggs, and Jonah now thinks he is the scrambled egg master. He would making them twice a day if I would let him.  Egg consumption in our home was high, a...
