The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

I felt like this week went Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Sunday, Saturday, Saturday, Sunday. This has to be one of my favorite weeks of the year!

Monday I took Reuben to the Dr for an ear check since he has had so much trouble the past months. Two wonderful things happened. First, his weight stayed the same two weeks in a row (25.4) and second, his ears looked great!

We spent Thanksgiving at my parents' house. (Jordan's mom was sick:(.)It was my first day back on dairy. I didn't go crazy because I didn't want to make myself sick! I discovered that I have become a chocolate snob and now really like the dark stuff over regular milk chocolate. I have yet to have a glass of milk, but the cheese that I have had over the last couple of days has been great. It is very freeing to eat food without reading the ingredients first. Reuben has made a hard transition causing me to ask "why go through all this?", but I after grocery shopping and meal planning for the week it will be less stressful.

I tried researching different ideas to help get Reuben sleeping though the night. I am going to start playing with the formula amounts...more scoops of formula and less water before bed, diluted formula during the night. Jordan took over last night. It was wonderful.

We have our Christmas tree up! We took the kids to a tree farm and got a real one this year! It smells great. We got a pizza Friday night and spent the evening decorating. So much fun. I have to watch Reuben like a hawk now. He is like a moth to the flame.

Audrey had a funny one tonight. She kept asking Jordan for her "covered jammies." We could not figure out what that was. Finally she said "Cover my toes!" She wanted footie pjs! Too cute!

A Very Late Posting of 1st Day of Enrichment Class!

Yep, enrichment classes started over a month ago and I am just now posting the "First Day of Class" photos.  This year we cut back to just one day.  It is lovely.  Jonah and Audrey are both taking art and science.  Jonah is also taking drama.  I am really curious to see how he does with that because he has been really excited about it.  The back packs are completely unnecessary, but a must for the back to class picture!     Getting Ready to head out!   Miss Poser as she gets ready to go inside!    Way too cool for this   Me too Mom!

A little extra help

I had heard that age 8 was when a mom feels like a child can really help out around the house.  I must have an exceptional child because Jonah has become very helpful at 7 1/2!  :)    I kept asking him to load the washing machine, and then one day I heard it running!  He took it upon himself to start the machine as well.  A couple of quick lessons and he was good to go.  We are working on load size.  At first two shirts constituted a load.  Then after explaining water waste he tried washing every piece of cloth in the house at once.  It was amazing to me how helpful the extra pair of hands has been the last couple weeks.  I am loving that this is still an exciting new chore that he is eager to help with!     I taught him how to make scrambled eggs, and Jonah now thinks he is the scrambled egg master. He would making them twice a day if I would let him.  Egg consumption in our home was high, a...
