Growing Up

It happened to me during pregnancy two and three so I am not surprised that it has happened during the fourth as well!  I get a little sentimental about my babies growing up and not being babies anymore.  There were more than a few extra kisses, hugs and "I love you"s this week.  If I keep laying the sugar on this thick until the baby comes I think that the kids are going to be sick!
I have always liked putting my babies to bed.  We have a sweet little routine, and this week I rocked and rocked Reuben.  We both loved it.  I am however trying to make him walk and hold my hand a little more often.  The bigger each of us gets the harder it is getting for me to carry him.  Not only is it getting a little awkward, but it is getting a little painful too!  I babysat a two month old this week, and it made me glad that I four months before baby.  I look back four months at how much more he can do and say and it makes me a little less nervous for this winter.  (I say a little.  He will still have a big adjustment!)  We will be working on the the concept of "gentle."
Audrey is growing out of all her shorts and pants.  The shorts have gotten too tight, and the jeans have gotten too short!  She and I ran errands just the two of us twice this week.  We even got out of the house without Franklin and Samantha (her beloved dolls.)  She continues to make us laugh, and told the librarian today that "Jonah wants to be a cowboy when he grows up, and I will be...a girlcow!"
My dear Jonah is getting so big.  The kids went with me to my baby appointment this week.  He understood what was going on and loved hearing the heartbeat.  "Oh cool!  That's cool!"  We went to a picnic with his home school group and he starts class on Tuesday.  I am not sure what he will think.  He is excited, but I won't be surprised if nerves show up sometime before now and Tuesday morning!  We were talking about Labor Day and how we honor those who work with a day off.  He said, "Mommy do you get the day off for working so hard?"  That's my sweet boy!

A Very Late Posting of 1st Day of Enrichment Class!

Yep, enrichment classes started over a month ago and I am just now posting the "First Day of Class" photos.  This year we cut back to just one day.  It is lovely.  Jonah and Audrey are both taking art and science.  Jonah is also taking drama.  I am really curious to see how he does with that because he has been really excited about it.  The back packs are completely unnecessary, but a must for the back to class picture!     Getting Ready to head out!   Miss Poser as she gets ready to go inside!    Way too cool for this   Me too Mom!

A little extra help

I had heard that age 8 was when a mom feels like a child can really help out around the house.  I must have an exceptional child because Jonah has become very helpful at 7 1/2!  :)    I kept asking him to load the washing machine, and then one day I heard it running!  He took it upon himself to start the machine as well.  A couple of quick lessons and he was good to go.  We are working on load size.  At first two shirts constituted a load.  Then after explaining water waste he tried washing every piece of cloth in the house at once.  It was amazing to me how helpful the extra pair of hands has been the last couple weeks.  I am loving that this is still an exciting new chore that he is eager to help with!     I taught him how to make scrambled eggs, and Jonah now thinks he is the scrambled egg master. He would making them twice a day if I would let him.  Egg consumption in our home was high, a...
